The DC Department of Buildings (DOB) has unveiled a Career Pathways program designed to provide architecture and engineering college seniors, graduates, and post-graduate level interns with valuable construction administration experience and potential full-time career prospects with DOB.
Participants will rotate between DOB departments throughout the program to have a wide array of exposure to different programs and subject matter, including permitting, inspections, plan review, zoning, technology, and customer service. The interdisciplinary nature of the program aligns with DOB’s organizational values of investing in our people to produce innovative and skilled public servants.
Investing in the next generation is critical to the continued success of our agency, and the Career Pathways program is one step our agency is taking to ensure a strong path forward. At the end of the eight-week program, participants will be eligible to apply for a limited number of full-time positions with the agency.
The application deadline for the first cohort of the Career Pathways program was February 14, 2023. If you are interested in the program, and want to be considered for the next cohort, please send a completed application package and your current academic course schedule to [email protected].
