Open Positions With DOB
- Building Code Inspector Trainee Positions: Will perform entry level on-site inspections under direct and general guidance, and prepare inspection reports regarding compliance with applicable codes, regulations, approved building plans and specifications. Creates and issues inspection reports, notices, and orders. May provide limited technical assistance and research to construction professionals and the public. A valid driver's license is required, as well as at least two International Code Council (ICC) certifications within 12 months of hire. Search for Job ID 32325. - Housing Code Inspector I Positions: Will inspect housing for substandard conditions and prepare inspection reports listing required corrections, notices of violation and notices of infraction when appropriate. A valid driver's license and ICC International Property Maintenance Code certification will be required (12 months to get certification upon hiring). Search for Job ID 32320. - Building Code Inspector II Positions: Will perform on-site inspections of residential and commercial construction projects to ensure compliance with District codes and regulations, approved building permits, plans, and specifications. This includes preparing inspection reports, issuing stop work orders, notices of infraction, and/or correction orders and resolving citizen complaints. - Building Code Inspector Positions: Will prepare inspection reports for construction projects and issue stop work orders, notices of infraction, and/or correction orders for non-conforming or illegal construction activity. Maintains an effective customer service relationship with clients and the public. At least one industry certification will be required. Search for Job ID 32329.
