Getting an inspection is a crucial part of the construction process, ensuring that a project is safe and complies with DC laws and regulations.
Customers
Customers can use Tertius, our online marketplace for construction inspections, to schedule a DOB or third-party inspection. All you have to do is create a profile and either request DOB to handle your inspections at no additional cost, or search through our database of certified third-party agencies. In turn, they will contact you to submit a proposal or review details, and schedule an inspection.

Construction Inspection Agencies

Special Inspections Agencies
Tertius allows inspection agencies to note their specialties, and that includes services requiring expertise on critical structural safety components to ensure compliance. Such “special inspections” are in addition to regular building inspections because the quality of construction significantly impacts a building’s life safety performance. Examples include certain projects (e.g., underpinning, structural steel, concrete) involving specialized construction work. (See DCMR 12A DC Construction Code Chapter 17.)
