In accordance with the Sustainable DC Plan and Clean Energy DC, all new construction and substantial improvements are required to be all-electric and net-zero energy in the DC Energy Conservation Code which is estimated to be adopted by December 31, 2026.
In collaboration with the DC Department of Energy and Environment and DC Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU), the Net-Zero Energy (NZE) Incentive Program was created. This program incentivizes compliance with the 2017 DC Energy Conservation Code - Zero Energy Compliance pathways. Please feel free to submit a code modification request for net zero energy programs that are not already listed under ‘Compliance Pathways’. This program is designed to help and support project teams and owners to successfully design and build net-zero energy buildings.
What if my project is not that intense? That’s okay too! DCSEU offers many rebate programs tailored to smaller projects and upgrades.
