What is ProjectDox?
ProjectDox  is an online platform that streamlines the process of plan review submissions, approvals, and tracking. It allows for better collaboration between applicants, sister agencies, and plan reviewers, allowing them to review, share comments, and communicate seamlessly

Accessing ProjectDox

How do I log into my project?
Applicants must register for an Access DC account at accessdc.dcra.dc.gov. Once you have registered, go to ProjectDox and log in with your Access DC account. 

Applicants must select “Applicant Login” to log in. Below is the display of the login page:

How do I find a list of my projects?
All pending tasks can be found under the “Tasks (PD)” tab. Applicant tasks must be completed in order for projects to be submitted for DOB’s pre-screening and plan review.

How do I search for projects?
Projects may be searched by permit number or property address. After selecting the “All Projects” tab, click on the search field beneath the “Project” column and enter the permit number or property address.

Prescreen Review

What is prescreen review?
DOB has created a prescreening guide available here.
 
Where do I get instructions for prescreening?
Projects are still able to be searched by permit number or property address. After selecting the “All Projects” tab, click on the search field beneath the “Project” column and enter the permit number or property address.

Uploading Documents

How do I upload documents in ProjectDOX for prescreen review?
Accessing the Applicant “Upload and Submit” form will allow you to upload documents to your project. 

• Prescreen Review: No additional documents are allowed to be uploaded during Prescreen review. 
• Plan Review: No documents will be allowed to be uploaded to the Drawings folder.  Documents are only allowed to be uploaded to the Supporting Documents folder. 

Submission to Plan Review

When does my project get submitted to plan review?
Once the project has been reviewed and approved by the PRC, the project will be assigned to a Plan Reviewer. There will be no Applicant tasks to complete while the project is under plan review.

Viewing Comments
 
How do I review the prescreen and plan review comments?
Navigating to the Reports Tab will allow the Applicant to review the Prescreening and view comments posted by the PRC and the Plan Reviewer.

Issuance of Permits

When do I get my permit?
Upon approval of all reviews, you will receive an email indicating all reviews have been approved. You must then pay all outstanding permit fees before a permit is issued. 
 
Approved permits are issued by DOB’s Permit Division and can be downloaded from your Citizens Access Portal account (commercial permits) and the Permit Wizard (residential permits). Permits are not stored in ProjectDox.

Approved Plans 

How do I download approved plans in ProjectDox?
Approved plans can be downloaded from the Approved Files Email Notification, Dashboard, Home Page, and Files Tab. Video instructions on downloading plans are available on the Dashboard.
