Renovation or new construction of a detached or attached structure (garage) on private property.

The Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) creates and changes all official addresses in the District of Columbia.

This permit is required if nothing remains at the site except for a party wall and/or a foundation.

All conveyances such as elevators and escalators must be inspected and certified for operation under District regulations. (DCMR 12A, 3001 General)
What Are Conveyances?
Types of conveyances are:

Installation, repair or replacement of a refrigeration and/or air conditioning system.

Construction of an entirely new structure that has not been previously occupied.

Any person or group may submit a petition to the Construction Codes Coordinating Board (CCCB) to amend the DC Construction Codes (Title 12 of the DCMR).
The CCCB may refer a code change petition to one of the Technical Advisory Groups (TAGs) for review and comment.

Repair, replacement or installation of a plumbing or gas system.
